2011 NetworkWorld Asia Readers' Choice Product Excellence Awards
About the awards
29 winning IT vendors received their awards in the 2011 Network World Asia Readers' Choice Product Excellence Awards in Singapore, Thursday 10 November 2011.
The awards are conferred based on votes from readers of Network World Asia magazine, and the Networks Asia, Security Asia and Storage Asia websites.
Readers voted for the IT vendors that have made the most impact on their organizations in the first three quarters of 2011. With economic conditions still uncertain, the right implementation of IT is one factor that can help a business straddle the line between failure and success.
Voting took place in August and September 2011 and was open to all readers, on a third-party web-based survey site, with invitations sent to technology directors, IT project heads, network managers and data center managers in end-user organizations. Votes cast from IT vendors were removed to ensure that only end-user votes were counted. All in all, 490 qualified respondents cast votes for the top technology vendors across 25 product categories. Votes were also tallied for runners-up, who are acknowledged as the best alternative vendors.
This year, a total of 29 trophies were awarded to IT vendors across 25 award categories, with ties in 4 categories - leading to joint winners in these categories. While many winners are long-established leaders in their categories, but there were a few surprises too proven that no vendor could afford to be complacent and take their customers for granted.
Many of the winners acknowledged the recognition given to them by the readers of Network World Asia and the importance their feedback played in the innovation and development of their award winning products.
