Silver Peak Systems, provider of wide area network (WAN) optimization solutions, has expanded its Asia Pacific operations with the addition of a new regional headquarters in Singapore. The new office is part of the company’s continued international expansion and will serve as a hub for sales, support, and marketing teams in the region.

Silver Peak vice president of Asia Pacific Alan Leong will continue to lead the company’s strategic growth in the region where teams are in place in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and Australia.

“The demand for data center class WAN optimization is growing rapidly around the globe, and the addition of our new headquarters in Singapore will be instrumental in accelerating customer adoption in the region,” said Arturo Cazares, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Silver Peak.

Customers from around the globe have deployed Silver Peak’s NX and VX appliances, and the recently released VRX data center class virtual appliances, which scale from Mbps to Gbps of WAN capacity. The products are designed to optimize all IP traffic regardless of transport protocol and application version. Silver Peak WAN optimization solutions are key enablers for disaster recovery, data center consolidation, data migration, server centralization, virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI), and other key IT initiatives.

Regionally the company said that there had been some sales and customer deployments in Malaysia as they already had a distributor there. They were also looking to beef up partnership and collaborations with channel partners to reach out to more customers around the region.
