The Total Economic Impact Of Seeker – Interactive Application Security Testing (IAST)

Synopsys commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a Total Economic Impact (TEI) study and examine the potential return on investment (ROI) enterprises may realize by deploying Seeker. The purpose of this study is to provide readers with a framework to evaluate the potential financial impact of Seeker on their organizations, to support their Agile development approach while reducing costs and decreasing the threat of a data breach.

To better understand the benefits, costs, and risks associated with a Seeker implementation, Forrester interviewed an existing customer with multiple years of experience using Seeker. Prior to Seeker, the customer relied exclusively on an external security consultant to perform manual penetration testing post-production. However, this would result in up to two weeks of work for developers and testers to remediate vulnerabilities, increasing the cost for remediation and impeding the Agile development process. The process was slow and expensive. With Seeker, the developers within the organization can test while they develop, which supports the Agile approach and decreases costs. Furthermore, they do not have to spend time pursuing false positives because Seeker does not have them.
