Avere, Fujitsu develop high performance NAS

Avere Systems and Fujitsu have announced their plans to develop a joint solution to provide a network attached storage (NAS) design with 100TB capacity and 100,000 IOPS at the cost of $100,000. Named the 100/100/100 bundle, the new NAS solution combines Fujitsu Core filer with UDS NAS controllers and ETERNUS DX80 S2 Disk Storage System with a two-node Avere FXT 3100 Edge filer cluster.

“Avere’s Edge filers give customers the ability to easily scale performance for the most demanding application workloads, while the Fujitsu storage systems deliver high-capacity along with rich data management functionality. Together, our products deliver the best of both worlds to our combined customer base in a fully supported bundled solution,” said Bill King, Executive Vice President, Platform Products Group of Fujitsu America.

“The combined Avere-Fujitsu solution helps businesses overcome the challenges of achieving high performance from data storage without the high cost of traditional storage solutions that require buyers to overprovision due to antiquated architectures or overspend on the fastest storage media,” said Ron Bianchini, President and CEO of Avere Systems. “And they can feel secure in the knowledge that their data is protected by a comprehensive set of Fujitsu management functionality and jointly supported by both companies and our selling partners.”
