Seagate Technology has announced three new enterprise-class hard disk drives (HDD) catered to data centers and emerging cloud infrastructures. Seagate Enterprise Value HDD, Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD and Seagate Enterprise Performance 10K HDD were recently rolled out to meet rising storage needs in the enterprise.
Seagate Enterprise Value HDD, also known as the Constellation CS, has storage capacities up to 3TB with 7200 RPM. It is the most affordable out of all of Seagate’s new enterprise HDDs.
Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5, dubbed the Constellation ES, has storage spaces up to 4TB with 7200 RPM. It is the 6th iteration in its ever improving series of enterprise HDDs. Features include Seagate’s RAID Rebuild for faster data recovery, PowerChoice for better power savings in idle periods, and Self-Encrypting Drive Technology.
Seagate Enterprise Performance 10K HDD, aptly named the Savvio 10K, offers up to 900GB in storage in a 2.5-inch form factor with 10,000 RPM. It uses the least amount of physical space and the least amount of power. The Savvio 10K also has Self-Encrypting Drive Technology.
