Readers’ Choice Product Excellence Awards: How Asia’s IT Buyers Voted, 2013–2018

The Readers’ Choice Product Excellence Awards were an annual programme in which readers of NetworkWorld Asia and its sister websites voted for the technology vendors they rated highest. The 2015 edition, described as the tenth, covered more than 40 categories, and the 13th edition was presented in Singapore on 25 October 2018.

How the vote worked

Editors first picked the contenders in each category. Voting then ran as an independent online survey: invitations went to CIOs, senior technology managers and IT project heads at end-user organisations, who weighed each vendor’s reputation, features, market acceptance, user feedback, and the quality and scalability of its service.

A Rising Star category, decided by the same voters, recognised newer vendors whose products were seen as innovative and likely to meet organisations’ needs.

Vulnerability Management and Continuous Monitoring was a new category in 2015, and Tenable had also won a Readers’ Choice award the year before. BeyondTrust’s 2018 Rising Star award recognised its PowerBroker privilege management products.

A companion programme

Where Readers’ Choice reflected the votes of the wider readership, the Information Management Awards were decided by editors and a panel of more than 100 regional CIOs and IT heads, and focused on security, storage and data management.
